EDUCATE / SOLVE / SERVE
These prompts are questions, thought starters, brainstorm ideas to get you thinking about what you can teach. If I were you, I'd reference this category most often.

  • What terms or concepts in your industry/niche tend to confuse people, and how can you explain them in a way that’s really easy to understand?

  • Write a myth vs. fact post about your industry.

  • What’s the most common misconception about your industry?

  • What frustrates you about what you do?

  • What lights you up about what you do?

  • What’s your industry’s biggest controversy right now? How do you feel about it?

  • Who’s your mentor/teacher/coach? What lessons did they teach you?

  • What I really need you to understand is…

  • Was there anything you doubted was possible for you/your business that you actually achieved? What was it? How did you make it happen?

  • What’s the most important piece of advice you’ve received about your career or business? What about the thing you or your product help people with?

  • What are three major trends or changes you’ve noticed in your industry recently, and why is that important for your audience? (this can be a roundup or three separate posts)

  • What questions do you wish your clients or customers would ask you?

  • What was your first big personal or company failure and what did it teach you?

  • Who could you interview that would bring even more insight? (ideally someone with a similar audience but different service/product)

  • What predictions do you have for where your field or industry is going?

  • What are your favorite things right now (books, podcasts, programs, blogs, workouts, etc.)? Ideal if they're tangentially related to what you do.

  • What are you loving lately? Could be a single recommendation or a themed list.

  • What books, podcast, or quote are you loving right now? What about it resonates with you?

  • Roundup links to your favorite posts/blogs on a single topic or during a single week and share your commentary or why we should read them.

  • What five tools (personal or business) could you never live without? Write about them.

  • Which accounts/blogs/podcasts do you think everyone should follow?

  • What resolution do you make every year?

  • When/where do you get your best ideas?

  • What five industry-specific books would you recommend to your audience?

These are prompts designed to help you pull out stories that will serve and connect with your dream audience.

  • Write about a struggle you’re having right now that your people could relate to? (Be mindful of not sharing something that feels really triggering for you right now.)

  • Have you ever done something ridiculous to fit in?

  • Write about a time you lied or faked something.

  • What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made recently and what did you learn?

  • Write about a time when you should’ve said “no” but didn’t.

  • Write about a time when you should’ve said “yes” but didn’t.

INSPIRE / SELF IDENTIFY

Inspirational posts are about helping someone connect to their future vision. You can inspire using your story, images, or other stories. Use these prompts for ideas.

  • If you could deliver a viral TED talk today, what message would you share and why? What would you teach?

  • Your client/customer has three wishes from a genie. What are they? Write out their dreams to inspire them to take action.

  • If you could wave a magic wand and help everyone understand one thing about themselves, their lives, their future, what would it be?

  • If no one would get mad at you, and money were no object, what would you do today? This week? This month? This lifetime?

  • What’s something about your current life that you used to dream about? Write about how your dream become your reality

  • If someone wanted to do what you do, what would you say to them?

  • If you had all your financial needs taken care of and never needed to earn another dime, what would you do?

BRAND BUILDING QUIRKS

These prompts are designed to get you thinking about the non-business side of you that could also tie into your business. So much of what makes your business unique is YOU. Explore these prompts. Some of them won’t go anywhere, some of them will inspire amazing content ideas to build your brand.

  • What do you want your business to be known for? How do you want people to feel when they experience your brand/online presence? Based on that, what parts of your life can you share to create those feelings?
